NANO (or NF-POGO Alumni Network for the Ocean) is a global network of past and present NF-POGO scholars held together by a common interest in, and commitment to, ocean science, and by the common will to communicate the results of their work to the general public, so that they can be applied for the benefit of society at large.
The vision for the Network is “Integrated Observations of a Changing Ocean”. The Nippon Foundation and the Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean believe that the understanding of the ocean and coastal environment relies on an integrated observing system around the world maintained by qualified decision-makers, researchers and service providers.
