For the first time, scientists have filmed the elusive goblin shark alive in its natural deep-sea habitat. The rare footage, captured during expeditions to the Tonga Trench and near Jarvis Island, offers an unprecedented glimpse of one of the ocean’s most mysterious predators. Often described as a “living fossil,” the goblin shark belongs to a lineage dating back around 125 million years.
