The UK’s largest seagrass restoration project has begun in Cornwall, where conservationists will restore 10 hectares of seagrass meadow alongside native oyster habitats across the Fal and Helford Special Areas of Conservation. The three-year £1.8 million initiative aims to boost biodiversity, improve water quality, capture carbon and strengthen coastal resilience, while engaging local communities through citizen science, education and marine restoration activities.
