Ocean Decade Network Transition – Poll for Users

The Ocean Decade Network was created as a global space for professionals, organizations, and stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and advance the goals of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). The groups within the Ocean Decade Network, including the Communities of Practice (CoPs), are important spaces where stakeholders with shared interests in specific regions or themes related to ocean challenges come together to exchange knowledge, ideas, and solutions.

In order to provide the best possible collaboration platform for the next half of the Ocean Decade, we are currently exploring options to transition the groups on the Ocean Decade Network to a more accessible and user-friendly platform. The main option we are currently exploring is a transition to LinkedIn — a leading professional network that offers interactive discussions, group management, and broader visibility for Ocean Decade initiatives. However, we acknowledge this transition may have different implications for our members, and are committed to finding the best possible solution to ensure the Ocean Decade Network remains accessible and inclusive.

Therefore, we would love to hear your thoughts! Your input in this poll will help us assess LinkedIn’s suitability for the Ocean Decade community, understand potential challenges, and explore solutions that ensure continued accessibility and engagement for all.

If you have any questions, please contact us at oceandecade@unesco.org. The survey is open until Wednesday 23 April at 23:59 CEST
