This is the final conference of the BlueAdapt project, which aims at protecting human health by understanding how climate change can impact pathogens and antimicrobial drug resistant bacteria in coastal waters. The project brings together environmental science, public health, climate modelling, and socio-economic analysis, grounded in a One Health approach.
As climate risks intensify, there is a growing need to strengthen preparedness and adaptation at local and regional levels; improve integration between environmental, climate, and health policies; support vulnerable communities; and translate research findings into actionable policy and practice. The BlueAdapt Final Conference will facilitate dialogue between researchers, policymakers and civil society to explore ways to transform project results into action – from local to EU level – to protect vulnerable communities and improve integration between environmental, climate, and health policies.
