Jersey Expands Marine Protection

Jersey has nearly quadrupled the proportion of its territorial waters under marine protection, increasing coverage from 6% to 21.7%. The move marks a significant expansion of the island’s marine conservation efforts and aims to better protect vulnerable marine habitats and species. The new measures form part of Jersey’s broader commitment to sustainable marine management and long-term ocean recovery in its coastal waters.
