On Thursday 17 September 2026, EMB will host its 63rd Third Thursday Science Webinar featuring Dr. Julie Robidart, who will present the topic of “Emerging Biomolecular Technologies for the Observation and Management of Marine Life”.

Julie Robidart is Group Head of Ocean Technology and Engineering at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), in the United Kingdom, with a specialisation in marine microbiology and molecular ecology using ‘omics technologies, environmental DNA and biosensors, and member of the EMB Working Group on “Biomolecular approaches to the observation and management of marine life“. She is also Executive Board Member of the Ocean Biomolecular Observing Network (OBON); Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) BioEco Panel Expert (2024-present): Lead author of the Microbial Biomass and Diversity EOV Specification Sheet; and UK Expert representative (2023-2024) of the G7 Future of the Seas and Oceans Initiative “Marine Life”.
This webinar was originally due to take place on Thursday 20 August 2026, but had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
