Job Description
[Research Description]
(Immediately upon employment)
Our research groups conduct precise and interdisciplinary oceanographic observations to elucidate rapid changes in the Arctic Ocean environment due to global change, and the associated variability in large-scale ocean circulation and climate changes.
We are now recruiting 2 researchers to lead oceanographic observations focusing on global ocean circulation. Based on fundamental knowledge of ocean physics and chemistry, the successful candidates will lead future observation cruises and international observation programs to advance our understanding of the relationship between the Arctic and the global climate and contribute to scientific progress.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
- Plan and implementing basin-scale observations in the Arctic and other oceans based on scientific knowledge.
- Conduct analytical research on basin-scale variations using observational data, numerical models, and primarily leveraging knowledge of ocean physics and chemistry.
- Investigate physical and chemical oceanographic processes through integrated analysis of diverse observational data and numerical model results.
(The scope of possible changes)
The duties designated by JAMSTEC
[Relevant Research Fields]
