The COSEA (Collaboration for Effective Sea Action) App is a multilingual citizen science platform designed to support marine observation, public engagement, and community interaction, with species, habitat, and other marine-environment categories already built in. Developed on the SPOTTERON Citizen Science App Platform, it offers tools for recording and visualizing observations, managing data, communicating with users, organizing activities, and providing educational and outreach content. The app is available for Android, iOS, and the web. Through its free Early Access program, researchers, NGOs, citizen science projects, and other stakeholders can access regional or national data; use expert accounts for moderation and validation; send customized messages; and publish projects, workshops, and events. COSEA is now inviting national, regional, and local partners to co-use and co-develop the toolkit, with observation questionnaires that can be customized to partner needs.
