The European Commission is launching the European Water Academy (EUWA), a key element of the European Water Resilience Strategy. The EUWA is an innovative skill-building, research and innovation infrastructure. It is designed to address the pressing challenges of water management, namely, to foster the building of a modern next-generation water sector workforce while also enabling effective technology transfer and the creation of an attractive, competitive water sector.
This official launch of the EUWA will include a mix of high-level keynotes, chaired by Bernhard Magenhann, Director-General of the JRC, followed by the unveiling of the Academy. It will showcase the first EUWA Champions and give voice to “the next generation water professionals”. Moreover, a business‑and‑stakeholder panel will discuss conditions and opportunities for a competitive European water sector.
