Student assistant in the field of paleoecology – Deadline when position is filled

The research area of our research group at the AWI in Potsdam (Polar Terrestrial Environmental Systems) includes analyzes of past ecosystem changes in polar and German regions. We therefore work with sediment cores and apply various palaeoecological methods like ancient DNA, pollen analyses and standard sedimentological methodologies to extract past biodiversity information and lake development.

• Help with the cutting and subsampling of sediment cores
• Sample documentation and management
• The work will be performed under cool conditions in a climate chamber

• Enrolled at an University
• Student in Natural Science or related disciplines
• Interest in the topic

The place of work is Potsdam.
Working hours: by arrangement / 40 hours per month or more.
Start: from Mid of September 2026.
