The expedition HE547, onboard RV Heincke, in February 2020, was a part of the NF-POGO Centre of Excellence training programme, funded by the Nippon Foundation. The team included twelve scientists besides the crew.
The main objective of this cruise was to provide shipboard training to the scholars, about the handling and uses of instruments such as CTD, ADCP, van Veen Grab and the beam trawl. We collected data from different stations in the North Sea to study the different physical, chemical and biological parameters. Beside a transect sampling, data were collected during a 24 fixed station sampling close to Helgoland.
The 24th of February was used to set up the CTD sensors at the beginning of the season. We started our expedition on 25th of February 2020, in the morning from Fischkai, Bremerhaven, and finished at the island of Helgoland on the afternoon of 28th February, 2020.
