Former world backpacker turned bartender, Jeff Kirschner is a serial entrepreneur with a love for storytelling. When his 4-year-old daughter saw a plastic tub of cat litter in the woods, little did Jeff realize that it would be the spark for creating Litterati – a data science company focused on creating a litter-free world. With a community spanning across 185 countries, Litterati identifies, maps, and collects waste, resulting in the Open Litter Database. Litterati is backed by the National Science Foundation, leading Silicon Valley and European investors, and has been highlighted at TED. Jeff’s work has been featured by National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Fast Company, and Forbes.

Download the Litterati app and use it to help coordinate your cleanups, or simply browse through the data to see how much litter has been logged, read success stories, take on the litter challenges, and/or join the community,

Joining Jeff and the Dive In team will be Melody, a twelve-year-old from California. She is known for her coastal cleanups and as Melody, the Orca Lover.

DIVE IN with Liz and Sylvia is a casual, free-flowing, and educational conversation and encourages ocean and nature enthusiasts of all ages to join. Sylvia, Liz, Jeff, and Melody will take questions via Q & A text and voice call-in from the attendees. Get your questions ready!
