PHIDIAS (Prototype of HPC/Data Infrastructure for On-demand Services) is a EU-funded project. The aim is to develop fully-fledged services to discover, manage and process spatial and environmental data to support researchers involved in domains such as earth surface, atmosphere and ocean. Therfore, the project addresses the development and concrete realisation of a set of High-Performance Computing (HPC) based interdisciplinary services and tools to exploit large satellite datasets of public European interest.

The interview with Charles Troupin, a researcher at the Université de Liège speaking about the PHIDIAS “Ocean use case”, explains how the project will help in addressing issues related to the ocean research.
