The Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment, including Socioeconomic Aspects (the Regular Process) is a global effort to strengthen the science-policy interface. The Second World Ocean Assessment (WOA II), a major output of the second cycle of the Regular Process was launched on 1 March 2021. While the first cycle focused on establishing a baseline for measuring the state of the marine environment, the second cycle will extend to evaluating trends and identifying gaps.
