25 years ago IMO developed four training courses to address various aspects of oil spill response planning, preparedness and management. These are known as the OPRC Model Courses and have been completed by many individuals around the world who are responsible for the oversight and management of an effective response to a marine oil spills.

This new OPRC e-learning course stands at the beginning of this already existing series, but does not replace it. It aims to provide those individuals new to the oil spill response community with a comprehensive overview of the essential elements of oil spill preparedness and response.

The free online course is available in English. There are no prerequisites for self-enrolment. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to download and print a certificate of completion. Since this is a self-paced online course, it can be paused, saved, restarted and replayed at any time.

We encouraged you to participate in this interesting course, click here for more info.
