Landmark Debt Swap to Protect Coral Reefs in Indonesia

The Indonesian government has announced a deal to redirect $35 million of US debt into coral reef conservation. The swap will fund restoration in two areas of the Pacific Ocean’s Coral Triangle —  the Bird’s Head and Lesser Sunda-Banda seascapes – that are home to 75% of all coral species and more than 3,000 species of fish, turtles, sharks, whales and dolphins.
