A highly motivated candidate is sought for a postdoctoral researcher position available in the laboratory of Dr. Nastassja Lewinski in the Chemical and Life Science Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University. The candidate chosen for this position will participate in a research project that aims to study at the cellular level the biological, material, and architectural factors that influence biomineralization, symbiosis, and wound healing in reef-building coral.  More information about the Lewinski Lab is available at: http://wp.vcu.edu/nalewinski.
Experience:
Competitive candidates should possess a doctorate degree with a strong record of research productivity.  Previous experience in primary cell culture, flow cytometry, biomarker identification, microscopy and electron microscopy is highly desired.  Candidates must also demonstrate good  scientific communication skills, enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research and collaboration, and the ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
