The Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung (D.A.M.) supports and coordinates leading German marine research institutions and aims at promoting the protection and sustainable use of coasts, seas, and oceans. The project ‘RETAKE – Marine carbon sinks in decarbonization pathways‘ offers in the subproject ‘Enhanced benthic weathering of carbonate and olivine in the Baltic Sea’ one PhD position in geochemistry, which will be closely linked to a PhD position in geomicrobiology (see offer: “geomicrobiology”). The project will investigate the potential, feasibility, and side effects of different pathways of atmospheric CO2-extraction through alkalinity enhancement (AE) in laboratory and mesocosm experiments.
