We are seeking a PhD student to work at Marum, University of Bremen (Germany) in a project about sediment dynamics along the Argentinean and Uruguayan margin. The aim of the project is to understand which are the oceanographic processes that control sedimentation along the continental slope and the formation of the contourite depositional system. The methods used include geomorphological and sedimentological analysis of the continental slope using multibeam bathymetry, seismic data and sediment cores, as well as the analysis of bottom currents using vessel-mounted ADCP data and hydrosedimentary modelling.
