OceansOnline, an add-on day to the International Marine Conservation Congress focusing on how marine scientists, educators, and
conservationists can use online tools for research and public engagement, is now accepting abstracts! Please note this is an in-person event that discusses the internet, not an online event.
This year, IMCC (and OceansOnline) will be in Kiel, Germany in August.
If you are a marine scientists, educator, or conservation professional who uses online tools for research or public engagement, we’d love to have you join us!
You can submit abstracts for the following types of presentations:
1) Tools demonstrations: these 15 minute short demos allow you to walk the OceansOnline community through a tool you’ve developed. This can be a website, an app, a device, an online community you’ve built, etc.
2) Workshops: These hands-on guided workshops are an hour in length and let you teach the OceansOnline community a new skill in a little more depth.
3) Facilitated discussions: These hour-long chats are guided by you, but involve feedback from the whole audience. They can be on a more general topic related to online science or outreach, often with a particular case study as a framework.
