The Fifth JCOMM “Workshop on Advances in Marine Climatology” (CLIMAR-5)in conjunction with a Marine In-situ Wind Workshop will be held in Hamburg, Germany, from 6-9 May 2019.
 
The meeting aims to build on the outcomes of the four previous CLIMAR workshops and on the outcomes of the alternating and closely related “Advances in the Use of Historical Marine Climate Data” (MARCDAT) workshops.
These workshops bring together a wide spectrum of marine data users and managers of marine data and products.
Invited and contributed presentations will explore recent advances in marine climatology and its applications, covering meteorological and oceanographic aspects in an interdisciplinary way.

  • Marine climatology – operational and scientific products and applications
  • From observations to climate services and safety at sea
  • Multisector use of marine data
  • The JCOMM MCDS
  • Marine in-situ wind workshop
 
Participation is invited and anticipated from a wide range of professionals involved in the fields of applications of marine climatology, climatological data archival and retrieval, climate research including modeling, and users of marine climate data and products.
