The successful candidate will join the Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department. With a team of more than 170 scientists and engineers from life science, environmental science, and IT science, the ERIN department is tackling major environmental challenges our society is facing today: climate change mitigation, ecosystem resilience, sustainable energy systems, efficient use of renewable resources, environmental pollution prevention and control. We are offering a postdoctoral researcher position in Earth Observation (EO) data analytics. She/he will join the Remote Sensing and Natural Resources Modelling team of ERIN’s Environmental Modelling and Sensing (ENVISION) unit. This unit carries out impact-driven research, geared towards monitoring, forecasting and predicting environmental systems in a changing world. She/he will integrate an interdisciplinary team of around 50 scientists, engineers, post-docs and PhD candidates supporting the public and private sectors by developing new process understanding, alongside new environmental management tools and technologies, operating at unprecedented spatial and temporal scales.
