This role will involve contributing to the discovery and lead to the further development in an appropriate aspect of biological oceanography/marine microbial ecology. More specifically to research the ecology, biodiversity or biochemistry of marine organisms with emphasis on microbes. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the natural and physical sciences available at SAMS, developing trans- and cross-disciplinary research with impact at national, UK, and international levels.
