This position is devoted to understanding the relations of biogeochemical cycling, higher trophic levels (especially anchovy) and environmental conditions in the Humboldt upwelling system, with the specific goal to investigate energy fluxes amongst trophic levels and the sensitivity of the system to climate variability, based on an “end-to-end”  model approach. Knowledge of a programming tool for data analysis and visualization is required, and proficiency in Fortran or Java is highly beneficial.
