Postdoc in Physical Oceanography

The Gullmarsfjorden in Sweden will be used to test fundamental assumptions about ocean turbulence. In collaboration with the universities of East Anglia, Gothenburg and Rostock we will directly observe lateral and horizontal momentum fluxes across the fjord’s boundary layers. These data will be used to test commonly used turbulence closures of numerical ocean models. The successful candidate will have expertise in either acquisition and analysis of oceanographic data or numerical modelling of the coastal ocean. A keen interest in combining observations, models and theory is expected. The position is funded for 2 years.
The postdoc’s duties will include research within physical oceanography as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
