Dear Colleague,

The journal /Geosciences/ (ISSN 2076-3263, Indexed by ESCI – Web of Science and Scopus – citescore 1.82, medium paper processing time-around 45 days), is currently running a Special Issue entitled “Large-Scale Ocean Circulation”. On behalf of the Guest Editor, Dr. Marlos Goes, we cordially invite you to contribute original papers, rapid communications, technical notes or review articles to this Special Issue. Please note that, for high quality *Review* articles, we could offer fee waivers to you to publish your papers *free of charge*. For this Special Issue, we encourage the submission of papers that utilize in situ, satellite, and numerical models to improve the understanding of the oceanic and atmospheric drivers of large-scale ocean circulation, and to study the influence of heat and freshwater content variability on climate and society.

For further reading, please follow the link to the Special Issue Website at:
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/geosciences/special_issues/Ocean_Circulation

The submission deadline is 30 September 2020 (but an extension can be granted, if necessary). You may send your manuscript now or up until the deadline. Submitted papers should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. We also encourage authors to send a short  abstract or tentative title to the Editorial Office in advance (geosciences@mdpi.com or gilbert.liu@mdpi.com).

/Geosciences/ is fully open access. Open access (unlimited and free  access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the authors and their institutes. The Article Processing Charges (APC)  for accepted papers are CHF 1000 (Please note that for papers submitted after 30 June 2020 an APC of 1200 CHF applies). You may be entitled to a discount if you have previously received a discount code or if your  institute is participating in the MDPI Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP), for more information see: http://www.mdpi.com/about/ioap.

For further details on the submission process, please see the instructions for authors at the journal website (http://www.mdpi.com/journal/geosciences/instructions).

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Gilbert
