Dear IOCCG Colleagues

On behalf of ESA and NASA, we would like to invite you to participate in the 2nd atmospheric correction intercomparison exercise (ACIXII) being developed to gauge performances of atmospheric correction (AC) methods for processing moderate-resolution images, including those of Landsat and Sentinel-2.

The 1st exercise focused on evaluating Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2A products over a set of (mainly land) test areas. During Sentinel-2 Cal/Val meeting late January 2018, the aquatic remote sensing community emphasized the need for separating the analysis for land and aquatic applications. To that end, ACIX-II is planned to specifically examine the performance of various atmospheric correction methods over inland and nearshore coastal waters. The satellite data considered are Sentinel-2A/B and Landsat-8.

We would like to recruit participants/research teams who have developed operational or research-based atmospheric correction methods and/or can contribute to consolidating in situ radiometric data for performance analyses

Further details on the inter-comparison protocols and data policy will emerge soon. Please kindly fill out the form https://goo.gl/Nd3Njz and express your interest in participating in this community-wide effort.

Regards,

ACIX-II Coordinators – Aquatic Subgroup
