We have two PhD positions available at the Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE) within the cross-disciplinary research project “A Genetic View into Past Sea Ice Variability in the Arctic (AGENSI)”, funded through an ERC Consolidator Grant.

The first PhD project in Molecular Ecology and Paleoceanography will focus on using environmental ancient DNA for Late Quaternary sea ice reconstructions. We are looking to fill this position with a student that has a background in molecular ecology, so we would appreciate if you could distribute the announcement to colleagues and students in microbiology/molecular ecology/bioengineering.

The second PhD project in Paleoceanography will focus on palynology and biomarkers to assess Arctic sea ice variability in the Late Quaternary. We would appreciate it if you could forward this position to prospective students with a background in geosciences/biosciences.

Application deadline is 11 June 2019.

 Best wishes,

Stijn
