An opportunity has arisen to join a respected environmental consulting firm located in Hampshire, near Salisbury. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced aquatic ecologist to work within an established team. Our work is focused on the assessment of environmental effects resulting from the construction and operation of major industrial and infrastructure projects. The role will require the specification and delivery of a range of field surveys in coastal, estuarine and freshwater environments, utilising a range of sampling techniques. In addition, data processing and interpretation, literature searches and technical input to aquatic EIA’s is expected.
Applicants should be qualified in a biological science to at least undergraduate level. Applicants are expected to demonstrate technical competence in fisheries and field survey techniques (shore and boat based) and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial environmental consultancy setting. Good IT and report-writing skills with a working knowledge of basic biological statistics are required. The successful candidate will be required to hold a UK driving licence and be available for travel throughout the UK in support of field based surveys.
