The forthcoming conference on Ecohydrology for global aquatic ecosystem sustainability will take place in Vitória, Espirito Santo State, in Brazil, the 20-24th March 2017. We will take this opportunity to celebrate the World Water Day, the 22nd March, with a dedicated UNESCO session.

The hydrologic cycle links water in all forms, creating a global aquatic system. Solutions for water related problems, as the ones proposed by the ecohydrology approach and established at the ongoing  8th Phase of the International Hydrologic Programme of UNESCO, are crucial to the sustainable future of humans life and wellbeing.

This conference, more than the scientific discussions on the proposed topics, also aims to address how we can, using the UNESCO ecohydrology approach, contribute to the successful accomplishment of the United Nations Sustainable development Goals, a global commitment agreed by 193 countries in September 2015.

We would like to invite you to participate in this conference and to share this information within your networks and with colleagues.

We are still receiving demonstrations of interest by several colleagues and institutions to join this event as organizers, so the list of partner institutions will be updated. In case your institution or organization are willing to join the organizers group, please let us now.

Looking forward for your feedback and to see you all in Vitória.

 Kind regards
