IMARES, a leading knowledge institute within Wageningen University & Research centre in the Netherlands, primarily focuses on marine ecology and fishery activities. IMARES presently operates as an independent institute within Wageningen UR. In the interest of synergy, however, they are to be incorporated into the Animal Sciences Group (ASG) as a business unit. The new director’s primary task will be to promote IMARES as a strong partner in national and international markets and within Wageningen UR. The director will bear final responsibility for completing the reorganisation as well as assisting IMARES with its preparations and full integration into the Animal Sciences Group (ASG) of Wageningen UR. The successful candidate will have completed relevant ecological or maritime academic studies and have a PhD in a discipline that relates to our key research areas. They should have access to relevant national and international networks as well as extensive subject knowledge of, and research experience with, IMARES’ main research topics.
