This research involved in the role will focus on the study of processes of physical-biology interaction, with special attention to the processes of turbulence and mixing and their influence on the dynamics of phytoplankton populations. For this, the successful candidate will make observations of microstructure turbulence during different oceanographic campaigns, analyze historical databases of oceanographic variables, and use the ocean circulation model ROMS, coupled with the biogeochemical model PISCES, to simulate the hydrographic conditions and the behavior of the components of the plankton microbial in the Galician estuaries.
