Please consider taking part to the “Global Ocean Week” http://gow2016.com/, a workshop and training session co-financed by the Copernicus Marine Service CMEMS (marine.copernicus.eu) and the COST Action “Evaluation of Ocean Syntheses” (www.eos-cost.eu).
The Global Ocean Week will take place on 10-14 October 2016 in Toulouse, France. Registration is already open including initially 24 grants financed by COST EOS. Complementary grants will be allocated by CMEMS for non-COST eligible applicants(*). Please send applications for COST EOS grants before 6 August 2016, and for CMEMS grants before 28 August 2016. More information can be found at http://gow2016.com/ .
This workshop and training session is a unique meeting point between users and producers of global ocean monitoring products (physical and biogeochemical observations, analyses, re-analyses, and forecasts) aiming at exchanging around the contents and quality of products, and their benefit for Blue Growth (http://ec.europa.eu/maritimeaffairs/policy/blue_growth/index_en.htm ). The scientific focus of the training session will be the evaluation of long time series of ocean monitoring products for various applications, and how to quantify their fit for purpose and the added value of related downscaled products.
(*) Candidates from any country can apply for CMEMS fellowships, covering expenses for travel and stay (predefined amount) during the GOW.
