Join a great network working for sustainable development and the protection of the Atlantic Ocean.
The application for up to two All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors from Germany is open until 8 November 2020.

1) What do All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors do?
All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors are committed personalities from all walks of life with different backgrounds who are committed to sustainable development and the protection of the Atlantic Ocean. They are currently either involved in education or training programmes or are in the early stages of their careers.

Within the framework of the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance, the Youth Ambassadors develop campaigns and communication strategies to reach local communities, students and civil society, involve decision-makers and work with the local media. The aim is to preserve and protect the Atlantic Ocean for future generations.

When developing online or local campaigns and events, the Ambassadors will be integrated into the Atlantic Pilot Cooperative Actions and supported by all-Atlantic research and innovation projects.

2) What does it take to become an All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassador?
– You have in-depth knowledge of and a passion for oceans and seas, encompassing their functioning and their importance for life on the planet and the major environmental and social threats they face.
– You are interested in youth issues, scientific diplomacy, policy making, public engagement, education and training
– You are a good communicator and willing to use social media/blogs/videos/performances and write articles to inform others.
– You are between 18 and 30 years old (as of 1 June 2020).
– You speak very good English and are also familiar with speaking in public.
– You are available and willing to participate in the virtual introductory training in February 2021 (tbc).
– You are available and willing to participate in the Summer School in June 2021 (tbc).
– You are available to participate personally and virtually in relevant events and meetings.
– You commit yourself to provide time for this programme from December 2020 and beyond.
– You are an initiator and a team player who will be active together with the other All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors.

3) Support for the All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors (selection):
– Support of and close cooperation with the selecting organisation.
– Travel and conference fees will be covered after prior approval by the AANChOR-CSA project if the selecting partner is an AANChOR-CSA project partner.
– Virtual introductory training (date TBC).
– Summer School (June 2021).
– Further events under the umbrella of the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance.
