The work is embedded in the BMBF Research mission “Schutz und nachhaltige Nutzung mariner Räume – protection and sustainable use of marine areas” where it builds an integral part of the joint project iSeal (Trans- and interdisciplinary Social-ecological network analysis based on long-term monitoring, experimental data and stakeholders’ assessment). Within the specific sub-project “iSeal Mesocosms” the impact of gobal warming and invasive species on Wadden Sea intertidal communities will be quantified using the AWI mesocosm facility at the List/Sylt station.
