Established in 1987 through the Clean Water Act, the National Estuary Program (NEP) is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) place-based program dedicated to protecting and restoring the water quality and ecological integrity of 28 estuaries across the U.S. Restore America’s Estuaries, in close coordination with and financial support from EPA, administers the National Estuaries Program (NEP) Watersheds Grants. This grant program funds projects within one or more of the NEP boundary areas and in support of priority areas including loss of key habitats, coastal resilience and extreme weather events, impacts of nutrients and warmer water temperatures on aquatic life and ecosystems, stormwater runoff, harmful algal blooms, invasive species, and more.

Learn more about the grants. Join an informational webinar being held tomorrow, January 19 at 1 pm Eastern. Download the RFP. You can also schedule time to discuss ideas with NEP Watershed Grants program director, Suzanne Simon, via this link. Each session is 30 minutes and can be via whatever works for you – phone call or virtual meeting [e.g., Zoom, Teams, etc.]. You’re also welcome to email her at ssimon@estuaries.org.
