Marine Engineering Science Group, Engineering Department, Institute of Marine-Earth Exploration and Engineering (MarE3, Director-General: Shinichi Kuramoto), Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) is accepting applications for a permanent position as a Principal Researcher.
[Research Description]
Marine Engineering Science Group promotes research and development on acoustic technologies, such as communication, positioning, and detection, which are necessary for ocean observations and deep-sea research. Regarding acoustic communication, basic research is examining long-range, high-rate multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) communication. An integrated acoustic communication/positioning system is also being developed to operate multiple underwater vehicles. The successful applicant will also engage in related activities at the international level.
