Call for Scholarship Applications 2022
Funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) “In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme” Sub-Saharan Africa at University of Abomey-Calavi, International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications (CIPMA – UNESCO Chair) in Benin
Background: DAAD through the “In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme” funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), offers scholarships for PhD and Master Studies. The programme aims at fostering strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development.
It has been agreed upon that DAAD cooperates with University of Abomey-Calavi, International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications by offering up to 2 In-Region and 1 In-Country scholarships for PhD and up to 9 In-Region and 3 In-Country scholarships for Master studies at University of Abomey-Calavi, International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications for the intake 2021.

Language of application: All applications MUST be submitted in English.
Target group: graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa or Others:
The Master programme is aimed at students in their second (and last) year of the Master’s degree and therefore the programme is generally only funded for one year and is usually starting in October. But with a Master’s degree, if applying for the doctoral programme who want to pursue studies in Oceanography in their home country or in another Sub-Saharan African country. Applicants should be university staff or academically trained personnel of public sector.
Number of scholarships:
1 Doctorates & 3 Masters from Benin
2 Doctorates & 9 Masters from other Sub-Saharan countries
Eligibility criteria – To be admitted in the Master programme (2nd year only), applicants must hold a Master 1 level academic degree or a master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Oceanography, mathematics or related domain to oceanography. For the doctoral programme, applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Oceanography. In addition, applicants must fit DAAD eligibility criteria, available on DAAD portal
