ASL Environmental Sciences, based in Victoria, B.C., Canada has more than 40 years of experience in remote sensing, acoustics, oceanography, ice research and operational services. We provide scientific consulting and instruments to government, industry, and academic sectors in Canada and internationally. Our remote sensing team offers expertise on airborne and spaceborne remote sensing for terrestrial and aquatic environments, combining decades of experience in applications and domain knowledge with the state-of-the-art technologies, data, and analytical capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing new or improving existing capabilities that use Machine Learning and Deep Learning for automated data processing and analytics.
  • Development of innovative techniques, tools and models for advanced analytics that utilize multi-sensor data including SAR, multispectral, and hyperspectral imagery.
  • Image processing, classification, target and anomaly detection, change detection/monitoring. • Technical leadership in your area of expertise.
  • Participation in defining new projects and proposals.
  • Writing technical reports and presenting results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A postgraduate degree in a scientific discipline and relevant work experience.
  • Experience using machine learning and deep learning for remote sensing data analysis.
  • Experience with applications of remote sensing for aquatic and/or terrestrial environments.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident, eligible to work in Canada
