The Department of Geosciences and Geography and the Tvärminne Zoological Station of the University of Helsinki invites applications for a 3-year Postdoctoral Researcher position in marine biodiversity.

The position is shared between the Aquatic Community Ecology Group of Janne Soininen and the Plankton Biodiversity Group of Aleksandra Lewandowska biodiversity and is a part of the EU funded project ACTNOW: Advancing understanding of Cumulative Impacts on European marine biodiversity, ecosystem functions and services for human wellbeing

Qualification and experience

The main task for the Post doctoral Researcher will be assessment of large scale marine biodiversity patterns and community responses to multiple drivers. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in aquatic ecology or related fields. The successful candidate should have a strong background in ecological data analysis or species distribution modelling and interest in developing novel metrics of community stability. Excellent writing and communication skills in English are essential for this position.

Salary and benefits

The Post doctoral Researcher will receive a salary according to the University’s salary system for teaching and research personnel ( 3200

The postdoctoral researcher is expected to work the first 20 months in The Department of Geosciences and Geography and the rest of the working contract i n Tvärminne, but the exact working periods are negotiable.
