We are the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) – the UK’s centre of excellence for oceanographic sciences. We are a national research organisation, delivering integrated marine science and technology from the coast to the deep ocean.

About the role

As an organisation with strong values, our Energy and Environmental strategy is at the heart of what we do. This role offers the opportunity to help deliver our decarbonisation roadmap and achieve the government EPC and EDC targets by working on environmental projects to deliver energy, water and carbon saving initiatives.

As well as responsibility for promoting Environmental and Sustainability campaigns within NOC, the position is tasked with ensuring that we maintain our ISO14001 Accreditation by supporting all departments within the organisation.

 

About you

You will have experience of working in similar roles or be a recently qualified Environmental Specialist looking to continue your personal development and career progression. The post holder will have an understanding or experience with ISO14001 Accreditation and the workings of Environmental Management Systems, along with a detailed and analytical approach to data gathering and collating for permit applications and government submissions.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to address audiences through training, inductions, and hosting environmental campaign events to both internal and external audiences.

A very proactive and flexible approach will be required for this post.
