The West Africa Marine Science Symposium (WAMSS) aims to bring together marine and coastal experts, storytellers, youth, government bodies, non-governmental organizations, funders and National Geographic Society Explorers from and working in West Africa to exchange knowledge, share successes and lessons learned in the region.
The symposium seeks to build partnerships and networks, identify opportunities and challenges in African marine research and inspire and equip the next generation of marine and coastal scientists, managers, and conservationists with key knowledge and skills. Furthermore, it strives to identify successful marine research and conservation models and catalyze collaborative projects by connecting potential grant applicants with funders.
