Kim Bernard is an Associate Professor, Ocean Ecology & Biogeochemistry at Oregon State University.  She is a marine biologist and biological oceanographer with a passion for understanding how climate change is altering ocean ecosystems and services. She has more than twenty year’s experience studying Antarctic and sub-Antarctic marine ecosystems and have also worked on projects in other parts of the world’s oceans and lakes, including the east coast of South Africa, the Mascarene Plateau, the Northern California Current, Arctic lakes on the North Slope of Alaska, and most recently the Eastern Bering Sea.

Kim and her associates conduct research at the Zooplankton Ecology Lab on how climate change and other anthropogenic disturbances alter zooplankton ecology at the individual, population, and community levels and thus the structure and function of marine ecosystems and services.
