On 4 April 2023 the European Marine Board is organising a webinar on the occasion of the launch of the European Marine Board Future Science Brief n°9 “European offshore renewable energy: Towards a sustainable future”. This 1.5-hour online webinar will include a presentation of the document and its main messages, responses to the document from key stakeholders, and an opportunity for Q&A.
The Future Science Brief on “European offshore renewable energy: Towards a sustainable future” has been authored by the EMB Working Group on offshore renewable energy, which was convened in 2021. The webinar will discuss the state-of-the-art of the offshore renewable energy sector globally and in Europe, as presented in the document. It will also highlight the identified gaps and recommendations linking to technology, environmental and societal impact of offshore renewable energy, to ensure that the sector can be developed sustainably and equitably.
