WorldFish leads the 2030 Research and Innovation Strategy ‘Aquatic Foods for Healthy People and Planet,’ which includes a focus on identifying research to policy and investment pathways on aquatic foods and how can they contribute to productive ocean systems for food, nutrition as well as livelihood security in Asia, Africa and the Pacific. In celebration of the 2022 World Oceans Day, WorldFish will host a Satellite Activity for the UN Ocean Decade Laboratory ‘A Productive Ocean.’

The session will focus on the rationale, objectives and insights from the strategy and highlight the success stories from the Solomon Islands in the Pacific and the State of Odisha in India, before exploring key areas of research and investment in Nigeria that could enable transformations for healthier, more just and environmentally sustainable food systems and a prosperous future for aquatic food sector actors in the emergent ‘blue economy.’
