We are writing to invite you to contribute a Review or Article for a Special Issue of the journal Diversity on the subject of “Coral Reef Ecology and Biodiversity”
Maintaining community, organismal, and genetic diversity is vital to ecosystem services and functioning; however, natural and anthropogenic impacts can alter this balance. The focus of this Special Issue of the interdisciplinary open-access journal Diversity is one of the most diverse ecosystems on earth: coral reefs. We welcome topics that cover anthropogenic impacts on coral reef ecology and biodiversity, climate change ecology, applied research and management, as well as socioeconomic linkages between humans and coral reefs.
Guest Editors for this special issue are Ku’ulei Rodgers of the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology and Keisha Bahr of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Please contact Kuuleir@hawaii.edu and Keisha.Bahr@tamucc.edu with any queries, including the term ‘Diversity Special Issue’ in the email subject line.
If you would like to submit an article, please let us know, in case we can offer advice or comment. In particular, if you were considering a review article, please inform us about the proposed topic area so that we can avoid having the same material covered by more than one author. **Authors may communicate with the editorial office for a discount on publication fees.**
*About the journal Diversity:*
Diversity (ISSN 1424-2818, Impact Factor 2.047, https://www.mdpi.com/journal/diversity) is a fully open access journal, granting the readers unlimited and free access, which increases publicity
and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies.
Manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately *16.4* days after submission-. If the revised manuscript is accepted, acceptance to publication is undertaken in *3.5* days (media values for papers published in this journal in the second half of 2019). A template is available to make the manuscript preparation easier, and the submission process is very simple and fast through the submission website. Authors are encouraged, although not forced, to publish the reviewer reports and their responses alongside their accepted manuscript. This makes
fully transparent the whole review process.
For information on manuscript preparation and related matters, please see the instructions for authors:
http://www.mdpi.com/journal/diversity/instructions.
The deadline for submission of manuscripts to the Special Issue is *31 January 2021*.
Mahalo for your time and stay safe!
