Registration is now open for the 2023 DOOS Virtual Annual Meeting – “Exploring collective solutions to global deep-sea challenges.” This years meeting will follow roughly the same schedule as last year with full group sessions Days 1 & 3 (May 9 & 11) from 1100-1500 ET and Day 2 (May 10) split into eight individual, 2-hour breakout sessions spanning from 0900-1700 ET.

During last year’s meeting, the community came together to identify focused initiatives to address global challenges in the deep sea. In this year’s meeting, we will be focusing on creating collective solutions to scientific and societal needs across communities and disciplines by increasing our global capacity to observe the deep sea. To that end we will kick things off with a plenary from our DOERs and have a special presentation on the Deep Sea Capacity Assessment from the Ocean Discovery League. We are also excited to have several groups co-leading Day 2 breakouts, including DOSICOBRA, and the Ocean Discovery League.

The meeting will run from May 9-11, 2023. Days 1 & 3 (May 9 & 11) will be full group sessions from 1100-1500 ET. Day 2 (May 10) will consist of eight individual, 2-hour working group meetings spanning from 0900-1700 ET.

This form serves as the overall registration for the Annual Meeting as well as registration for individual sessions on Day 2. Filling out this form will help us greatly to plan for an effective virtual meeting! Please indicate the Day 2 sessions you wish to attend. Please note that two sessions will be run concurrently during each each two-hour block during the day. We will do our best to schedule sessions around registration preferences to avoid overlap.
