SMEs and start-ups seeking investment opportunities are welcome to send an Expression of Interest for the BlueInvest Awards 2023. The 16 finalists will be pitching on stage for the awards at the BlueInvest Day 2023 taking place on 09 March 2023 in Brussels.

Eligibility

To be a candidate for the BlueInvest Awards 2023, your company must:

■ Be part of the BlueInvest Community or BlueInvest Project Pipeline or have been selected for BlueInvest Readiness Assistance or Fundraising Assistance

â–  Be headquartered in the EU

■ Have a working product, technology or solution that is relevant to one of the four pitch categories:

– Category 1 | Net Zero and Decarbonisation

This category covers innovative technologies in the field of green shipping, shipyard and ports as well as ocean renewable energy, from offshore wind to wave energy to hydrogen solutions.

– Category 2 | Circular Economy and Preventing Ocean Pollution

This category covers next generation technologies, products, and circular models in the field of marine waste and water management, ocean pollution reduction, and preservation and regeneration of marine and freshwater ecosystems.

– Category 3 | Sustainable Food and Feed from the Ocean

This category covers innovative new food and feed from aquaculture, fisheries and renewable aquatic biological resources (alternative seafood, alternative food & feed, alternative proteins, marine, flora and seaweed).

– Category 4 | Blue (bio)tech and Ocean Observation

This category covers new products, (bio)technologies and AI-based solutions aimed at producing knowledge, goods, and services for the ocean including measurement, observation and forecasting of the ocean and human activity on the ocean for all purposes

â–  Previous award winners will not be eligible to apply this year.

How to apply?

To apply to pitch for the BlueInvest Awards:

â–  Tell us which pitch category you are submitting an expression of interest for

â–  Upload your pitch deck or pitch video at the latest by 12:00 noon CET on Wednesday 01 February 2023. This should cover:

– The problem you are solving
– Your solution (value proposition)
– Sustainable impact
– Founders & team
– Your current fundraising goals

All candidates will be notified of the results on Friday 10 February 2023. The finalists will undergo a briefing session and pitch coaching prior to the event.
