The University of Bergen is organizing no less than two events in its Ocean Futures 2030 event series in April. In the series issues on ocean governance are discussed broadly, with a particular focus on the ocean/climate/biodiversity nexus.

On Tuesday 9 April there will be an official satellite event as part of the Ocean Decade Conference in Barcelona on the contested issue of marine genetic resources and global benefit sharing. The urgency of this has been emphasized by recent international ocean and biodiversity agreements.

The second event is on Tuesday 16 April during the One Ocean Week in Bergen, where representatives across sectors meet to share perspectives on the ocean governance of the future.
